There’s plenty to do! You can trek through the Great Himalayan National Park, try trout fishing, or just relax by the river with a book.

The water is fresh and inviting, but the currents can be strong in some spots. If you’re a confident swimmer, you can take a dip in calmer areas. For kids or beginners, it’s better to stick to the shallow sections or just enjoy splashing around.

The best time to visit the Tirthan River is between March to June and September to November when the weather is pleasant, ideal for outdoor activities like trekking and camping. Avoid monsoon as the area is prone to landslides due to heavy rain.

The closest big town is Aut, which is well connected by road. From there, you can take a taxi or a local bus to Banjar or Gushaini, depending on where you’re staying. If you’re coming by air, Bhuntar Airport is the nearest, about 50 km away. It’s a bit of a journey, but totally worth it!

Absolutely! It’s a great place for a peaceful family getaway. Kids will love playing by the river, spotting birds, or exploring nearby trails. Just keep an eye on them near the water, as the current can be strong in some places.
